Jason Southwick, with inspiration from Sunny Cade and helpful ideas from numerous friends, most notably Bill MacWilliams, designed the first draft of the course in 1988. A handful of homemade baskets filled out the target set consisting of taped trees, rock rings, a picnic table bench you threw under, an old-style accuracy target, and a much-maligned milk crate. |

Gradually all object targets were replaced by homemade baskets of varying reliability, built by such New England frisbee personalities as Toddy Brodeur, Sean Franchi, Brent Sanderson, Ed Fletcher and Chris Livingston. Many of these original baskets are still in use on newly created courses and in backyards and state and local parks. |

Chainstars were added in 2001, along with a kiosk, donation box and sign-in sheet. Shortly thereafter a portable toilet graced the scene. In 2003, as part of a major redesign (about the 10th major redesign), a second set of baskets, the Innova Discatchers, were added. |

So all 18 holes now have a silver Chainstar and a gold Discatcher basket, with the gold layout being the harder of the two. The lengths of the two layouts are 5,176 feet (par 57) and 5,942 feet (par 63). The course is mostly wooded with a couple open field shots. The one pond is OB, as is the yellow rope on holes 14, 15, 16 and 18. There are also mandatories on Holes 9 and 16. Tees are Fly-18 rubber over stonedust. |

This frisbee playground now includes course artwork by Cindy Wyman, a regulation Double Disc Court installed by Brent Sanderson, a practice net and New England's most extensive disc golf pro shop. Pyramids is located a quarter mile from Maple Hill disc golf course. Come on out to Leicester and see us some time. |
