Disc Golf Championship

Marshall Street was founded in 2004 by Jason Southwick and Steven Dodge. It was born out of a need to expand disc golf in New England and to expand Jason's Pyramids Pro Shop out of his basement. The Marshall Street Disc Golf Championship is designed to be a professionally executed, high payout, media- and fan-friendly tournament. The goal is to grow the MSDGC into one of disc golf's major tournaments. About Jason - Jason's love of the disc began in 1982 while living in Austria. He began playing disc golf and was the captain of the Austrian National Ultimate team. In 1988, he created one of Massachusetts' first private course, Pyramids, in Leicester, MA. He has since spearheaded the creation of disc golf courses at Barre Falls and West Thompson while continuing to maintain the beauty and challenge of his Pyramids course. About Steve - Steve began playing disc golf in 1986 at Mary Washington College. He quickly began winning advanced tournaments and decided to avoid going pro by switching to ultimate where he was Mother Superior of the Fredericksburg club team. He also went to Nationals twice with a Virginia/Carolina all-star team, HOSS. Steve resumed his disc golf career in 2001, finally becoming a pro and earning some money. While on a two month tour of disc golf courses around the country, he and David Wold broke the world record for the most disc golf holes & course played in one day. |
