    PDGA Approved in 2019, the Huia has quickly become a very important part of my bag. This stable to overstable fairway driver was quick to replace the Volt in my bag but with more stability. I don’t have to worry about the Huia flipping over in the wind, especially a newer Cosmic or Atomic variety of it. As a left handed player, I can rely on this disc when I want to throw hard and still get a reliable finish to the right. With that being said, with some anhyzer angle, I can also get some decent turn and glide out of it. I have a Strata (baseline) Huia which I can really get to turn over to the left but still get a nice fade at the end of the flight. The feel in the hand can take some getting used to, to be honest but once I discovered how workable this disc is, I don’t see it ever leaving my bag. I have about 5 or 6 backups just in case I ever end up losing one. However I don’t see that happening anytime in the near future because every time I reach for the Huia, it does exactly what I want it to do without having to worry. If I need to go right (once again as a predominantly LHBH thrower) for shots that are sub 300′ the Huia is it for me. Also worth mentioning, the few times I have tried the Huia for a sidearm throw (only because I hardly ever flick) it has always worked out for me. Overall just a great stable to overstable fairway driver that you can always rely on.
