Scott (the creator of this product), has been running R&D on this glove for quite some time and says, “”They are not thick like work gloves, but rather, thinner, like a layer of skin, albeit a tough layer!”” Seems true.

Great little gripping angles on the palm for added grip, fingerless for dexterity. FYI, S/M fit Hoey’s hands, which seem slightly larger than average, but it can be difficult to determine relative size in the third person.
