Ledgestone
Ledgestone refers to the fundraiser frisbee golf discs produced and provided by Discraft to tournament director extraordinaire Nate Heinold, who has run the Ledgestone Insurance Open every year since 2011.
Since then the Ledgestone has grown from 105 players sharing a total purse of $2,445 to 914 players vying for their share of $91,588. The 2015 Ledgestone actually had the biggest pro purse: $117,453.
What’s special about these discs is that every one of them is a unique combination of model and plastic, including such exotic pairings as the Titanium FLX Challenger, Jawbreaker Nuke, Cryztal Sparkle Predator, and ESP Glo FLX Zone. There are also many different Buzzzes. They naturally tend heavily toward Discraft’s more popular models, while also including intriguing oddities like the Z Ringer.
I’d love to do the same thing with other manufacturers. I still dream of a GStar Groove, but no one listens to me.
