Wham‑O is the iconic American toy company behind the original “Frisbee®,” tracing its roots to the 1948 garage-founded brand that pioneered flying discs in 1957 with the Pluto Platter. Wham‑O played a foundational role in disc golf—Ed Headrick and colleagues first tossed discs during Wham‑O lunch breaks before branching off to formalize the sport. Though Wham‑O’s disc golf line has faded, their legacy lives on through collector-worthy vintage discs and the occasional PDGA-approved Frisbee® Disc Golf sets.
Today, Wham‑O still produces recreational disc golf sets—toy-grade putters, midrange, and driver packs that are PDGA-approved and perfect for casual play or backyard fun.
