This is such a fun disc, and somehow appropriate that Gateway seems to be involved in its production (the SureGrip seems like a giveaway).
Anyway, it was one of Quest Founder Steve Pearson’s brainchildren, or something more like a stroke. Anyway, very much most of the weight is in a thick, two-tiered flight plate, and very little weight is in the thin, floppy rim. And Steve created this disc because Justin Bunnell, who worked at Gateway and was a great player, would sometimes miss 15-foot putts.
Steve Pearson thought it might be because all the weight was in the rim, which accentuated nervous releases.
It didn’t work, maybe because Justin never gave it a serious try. Like a lot Quest discs, there was a lot of really great ideas, not necessarily backed with sound research and development.
